Discovering Hidden Heritage: Geomatic Techniques for the Knowledge, Dissemination and Conservation of Hard-to-Access Natural and Cultural Heritage.

Abstract

The research project focuses on the exploitation of geomatic techniques for the identification, study, and valorisation of hidden, submerged, or hard-to-access cultural and natural heritage sites in Sardinia. The main objective is to integrate geomatics approaches and geophysical survey techniques with historical and cartographic sources. The methodology includes the use of terrestrial, coastal, and underwater surveys and 3D modelling techniques, GIS and virtual reality tools. The project aims to improve documentation, conservation strategies, and public dissemination of cultural heritage through innovative digital technologies.
